Wills, Probate & Trusts:

Court of Protection

There are times in people’s lives when unfortunately they lose the mental capacity to make decisions about their own financial affairs and welfare. As such they will need the support of family or close friends to make decisions on their behalf. An official appointment is necessary by the Court of Protection where the appropriate person is appointed as the “Deputy” to make such decisions.  If a member of your family or close friend lacks capacity to make a decision in relation to any particular matter, we can assist you in making an application to the Court of Protection for you to become appointed as a Deputy.  We also offer guidance and support in respect of your continuing duties as a Deputy and your accountability to the Court of Protection.

If you would like to discuss making a Lasting Power of Attorney or a Court of Protection Deputy application, please contact a member of our team for further advice and assistance.
